Rookie to expert riders and couples are very welcome on this tour. We stay in mid- & high-range hotels. We always opt for the best option available – clean, safe and practical location. Temperatures can vary between 12 to 40°C (53.6 F to 104°F). Temperatures can drop for a short period going over the mountains passes. It is recommended to ride with ventilated riding gear. A pull over rain suite is a good idea to carry against mountain temperatures and possible short rain showers that can occur year round.

12-DAY COLOMBIA HIGHLIGHTS TOUR ITINERARY
Fly-in to Cali
MotoDreamer staff pick you up at the airport and bring you to the hotel. Depending on what time in the day you arrive, we will meet to sort out paperwork and prep the bikes. A group briefing meeting will be arranged once the last rider has arrived.
Cali to Salento
We leave Cali early to make the most of the first riding day. As we make our way north in western mountain range of the Andes we stop at Lake Calima. From here we make our way back into the Cauca valley and ride along sugar plantations until we reach the coffee region. We spend the night in the beautiful coffee grower village of Salento.
Salento to Mariquita
In the morning we will go visit a working coffee plantation and learn how much work goes into producing a cup of coffee. Then its time to ride. We are going over a 4000 meter pass near Los Nevado del Ruiz and back down on the other side. Spectacular scenery and thousands of curves. We spend the night in warm Mariquita.
Mariquita to Bogota
After breakfast we cross the Magdalena river valley, do a short stop at the historic river port town of Honda and then head up the Eastern Andes mountain range to the capital of Colombia, Bogota.
Rest-day Bogota
In Bogota we have a city tour planned that we take us to Montserrat Monastery for a view of the entire massive city. Hereafter we visit Plaza de Armas and the historic part of town La Candelaria. Option to visit the beautiful gold museum or shop for Colombian emeralds.
Bogota to Villa de Leyva
Leaving the metropolitan Bogota we stop in Zipaquira to visit the underground salt Cathedral before riding north to the beautiful colonial village of Ville de Leyva. It’s famous for having the biggest cobblestone square in Latin America.
Villa de Leyva to Doradal
From Villa de Leyva we must decent the Eastern Andean mountain range into the Magdalena river valley again. This time on a more norther pass through thick jungle and narrow turns. We spend the night near Pablo Escobar’s old ranch Hacienda Napoles.
Doradal to Guatape to Medellin
From Doradal its time for a beautiful paved road up the central Andean cordilleras (mountain range). We stop in Guatape to enjoy the colorful village and to climb the El penol monolith rock with incredible views of Medellin lake district. We arrive in Medellin of a fancy night out.
Rest-day Medellin
A city tour is planned before noon. We will try the metro system and connection to one of several cable cars that run over the rooftops of the barrios. We stop to see Colombian artist Botero’s sculptors and museum and take a walk in the buzzing city center of Pablo Escobar’s old strong hold.
Medellin to Caucasia
If probably feels like the curves never end and they literally don’t. We again have thousands of tight curves to get over the mountain pass towards the north of the country. We agin hit close to 4000 meters before going back down and end up in Caucasia in the cattle country.
Caucasia to Cartagena
A good breakfast in the morning and we are ready for the last stint of our trip. The terrain becomes more flat as we make our way to the coast and our final destination Cartagena. We arrive in time to return bikes and get ready for a cosy last night on the walls of the old fortified city.
Fly-out Cartagena
MotoDreamer staff will take you to the airport in time for your flight. If you wish to stay longer we are happy to help you make arrangements. We strongly suggest staying in Cartagena for a day or two after the Motorcycle trip and enjoy the beach and city.
